A new adventure, starts in September 2010

When I was a kid, I trusted the adults, politicians, teachers and religious leaders. I always thought it was those who make the decisions, the ones who make the world work. I trusted them.
The more I learned, the more I discovered, that for thousands of years, the older wiser adults have never been able to achieve peace, to solve problems like poverty, or find a balance between nature and civilization. It saddened me.
It was only later in life I figured, maybe, just for a change, why don't the adults trust children's ideas and dreams, as it is children's future, not theirs.
It is the adults who said, never fight, respect your elders, be kind to others and animals, but it has been adults who join the army, go to war, flatten trees and make more roads and buildings, seeking for wealth and success seems more important than being kind or showing respect.
'Paint Your World', is simply a journey where Dragana Djuric and myself, will assemble a large scrap book of children's dreams of the future. Drawings, songs, poems, signatures, quotes, everything that children want to see in the future we will record and we will try to show this to everyone, from a book, a mini movie, and the internet, and maybe one day, the men in power might once just pay attention to what children want, after all, children should have a voice too.
Why would children's imaginative drawings be important? Well, after I was seriously ill after a brain haemorrhage at 19, what doctors knew at the time was not optimistic. So I focused on my own imagination in the future that I will get better, I will be able to speak, I will be able to have a decent life. Over the years, my own imagination and self belief improved my own thinking and health.
I stumbled on a quotation by Albert Einstein - 'Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the entire world' Those words settled well in my heart, and I have lived by it for most of my life now.
The walk / train trip, will start from Dubrovnik (Croatia) then travel north and visit schools from town to town. The journey is set to travel through Croatia, Bosnia, before finally to Novi Sad (Serbia). We hope the journey will bring many smiles and hope to start in September 2010.
